How it all started...
...Our Story
Tomorrow Vijana is a non-profit organization that was founded by two refugees, Kubana Alexis and Mathias Rukira, to assist and empower other refugees in Rwamwanja Refugee settlement. We are committed to helping refugees in this area to build a better life for themselves, their families, and their communities.
This realization came through extensive research conducted with support from the Humanitarian Innovation Project at Oxford University in 2014. Overcoming language barriers was identifed as critical to refugees' integration into the Ugandan community.
Throughout the years, thousands of refugees have benefited from the programming and activities offered by Tomorrow Vijana, such as access to education and employment, health and wellness initiatives, and more. Our mission is to help refugees build better lives, and it’s what drives us every day.
